Sara Frost first thought about joining the Wurtsboro Fire Department as a teen, but she just couldn’t find the time, and then came college. But after graduation she finally did it, determined to challenge herself and realize that teenage dream.

 

"A lot of men didn't take me seriously, because I was the first woman in the department in a while,” Frost says. “They didn't think I would make it through training.”

 

They thought wrong. Now a lieutenant, Frost continues to serve and continues to push herself beyond new limits.

 

Says Frost, “You don't know what you're capable of until you try.”
